La Meglio Gioventu

Every now and then I like to revisit this movie. Somehow I love the simplicity of how the life of a family can be portrayed.

It follows two brothers over the course of forty years, explores their lives, their relationships, and the experiences that take them from starry-eyed optimists about to embark on an exploration of Europe to an adulthood unlike anything they could have ever imagined.

Here there is no place for fairy tales or crying tragedies, whether there is love, hate, life or death entering the scene. Life changes as naturally as the clock keeps on ticking and people move on unafraid of what was left behind.

I like the way it shows how a simple life is worthy to celebrate.
